Description of the mission:
The Senior Data QA Automation Engineer will serve as a key testing authority and technical lead within the Data team, ensuring the quality, integrity, and reliability of data across the Data Hub and its integrated systems and applications. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical testing expertise with a solid understanding of data architecture, test automation, and quality assurance practices. The role will be responsible for ensuring that data deliveries consistently meet business and technical requirements, while driving the continuous improvement of QA processes and the implementation of automation solutions to increase scalability, efficiency, and overall delivery quality.
Main responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary testing authority for the Data Tribe, defining and driving the end-to-end testing strategy across all data-related initiatives.
- Develop and implement comprehensive test plans covering functional, integration, regression, performance, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Continuously optimize QA processes, methodologies, and workflows to increase test coverage, improve efficiency, and reduce testing effort and operational costs.
- Coordinate testing activities across multiple roles and stakeholders within the tribe, ensuring effective collaboration, clear communication, and comprehensive requirements coverage.
- Develop and execute advanced SQL queries to validate complex data migration, transformation (ETL), and loading processes across the Data Hub.
- Perform detailed Source-to-Target data validation to verify the accuracy, consistency, completeness, and integrity of data across disparate source systems and target applications.
- Analyze data mappings, business requirements, and technical specifications to design detailed, high-coverage test scenarios and test cases.
- Conduct comprehensive backend and database testing to validate data integrity, system functionality, and overall platform stability.
- Design, develop, and maintain automated testing solutions and scripts to minimize manual regression effort, improve test efficiency, and support scalable QA delivery.
What we are looking for :
o Hands-on experience in QA Engineering and technical testing within data-centric environments, such as Data Warehouses and Data Hubs.
o SQL: Intermediate to expert-level proficiency in SQL, with the ability to develop complex queries for data validation, reconciliation, and integrity checks.
o ETL & Backend Testing: Strong knowledge and practical experience with ETL testing methodologies, data pipelines, and backend system validation.
o Test Automation: Proven hands-on experience developing and maintaining custom automation scripts and frameworks to improve testing efficiency and reduce manual effort.
o API Testing: Proficiency in API testing and validation concepts, with experience using tools such as Postman.
o Domain Knowledge & Methodologies
o Strong understanding of data modelling principles, data structures, and modern data architecture.
o Proven experience working within Agile Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) environments.
o Proficiency with development, project management, and documentation tools, including Jira, Confluence, Git, and Integrated Development Environments (IDEs).

o Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, combined with a high level of attention to detail.
o Ability to translate and communicate complex technical issues, data discrepancies, and testing findings clearly to non-technical business stakeholders.
o Proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving, continuous improvement, and QA process optimization.
o Strong ownership mindset, with the ability to lead testing activities and drive quality across multiple initiatives.
o Preferred Qualifications
o ISTQB Certification – Advanced Level Test Analyst or equivalent professional certification.
