Context:
The IT OPS Engineer plays a central role in the production lifecycle. They are a key contributor in ensuring production requirements are met and help define technical solutions while overseeing their implementation within APS. The engineer ensures the stability of both production and non-production environments. This role operates within an Agile and DevOps framework, supporting technical user stories and contributing to the project backlog.
- Migrate third-party Windows-based software (e.g., SAS, Qlik, BO...) and .NET to the
company’s cloud infrastructure, in coordination with Infra teams in Paris. - Contribute to the definition and continuous improvement of cloud migration standards.
- Promote the reuse of existing services to reduce costs and implementation time while integrating APS requirements into the project backlog.
- Propose reusable solutions where new development is necessary.
- Anticipate compliance, architectural standard, and cybersecurity requirements of the proposed solutions.
- The IT OPS Engineer may be seconded to relevant squads or tribes depending on project needs.
- Work closely with APS teams to ensure smooth deployments.
- Set up appropriate logging, monitoring, and alerting mechanisms, in collaboration with SRE teams.
- Provide required production resources (environments, performance monitoring, infrastructure), facilitating solution deployment.
- Acquire application knowledge to identify and troubleshoot blockers (network, security, flow issues), and propose action plans.
- Provision infrastructure components (platforms, databases, middleware, certificates, firewall rules, etc.).
- Perform technical tests (e.g., performance, recovery) before production release.
- Ensure documentation is completed before go-live.
- Ensure activities are tracked and managed within the project backlog.
- Draft and maintain ICPlans / DRPs with application owners.
- Manage and follow change requests and incidents related to the application scope.
- Show initiative and propose process improvement opportunities.
- Promote and share best practices across the team.
- Strong analytical skills to resolve both legacy and cloud production issues.
- Solid understanding of operating systems (especially RHEL and Windows).
- Knowledge of Application Servers (Apache/Tomcat, WebSphere, JBoss) and technical components (CFT, MQ Series, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MicroFocus, F5...).
- Familiarity with automation and industrialization tools, including scheduling (e.g., Autosys) and deployment/configuration tools (Jenkins, Git, Ansible Tower).
- IBM Cloud Bronze certification or equivalent is required.
- Java development skills are a plus, as well as experience with development frameworks.
- Expertise in deploying Windows software (e.g., SAS, BO, Qlik).
- Experience in cloud-based application deployment.
- Ability to define technical architecture for end-to-end solutions.
- Proven track record in application migration to new infrastructures or cloud environments.
- Skilled in incident analysis, including reading logs (Java), investigating connectivity issues (DB, middleware), and firewall troubleshooting.
- Proficient in performance troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Fluent in French (spoken and written)
- Good working knowledge of technical English
