Context:
We are looking for a driven and adaptable QA Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will help maintain the quality of our web applications through a combination of manual and automated testing approaches. Collaborating closely with developers, business analysts, and the product owner, you'll identify, document, and help resolve issues to deliver a smooth and dependable user experience. The ideal candidate will have a solid grasp of web application architecture and a strong commitment to quality.
Manual Testing:
- Conduct manual testing for new features, bug fixes, and regression scenarios to ensure product quality.
- Review business requirements and technical specifications to create detailed test plans and test cases.
- Execute test cases and document results with precision.
- Log and manage defects using JIRA, ensuring clear and consistent tracking.
- Collaborate closely with developers to investigate and resolve issues.
Automated Testing:
- Design, implement, and maintain automated test scripts using Cypress for stable components of the application.
- Review and refine existing automated tests, improving reliability and performance.
- Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline to support continuous delivery.
- Research and recommend tools and technologies, including AI-based solutions, to advance the automation process.
Documentation & Communication:
- Develop and maintain clear documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test results.
- Communicate testing outcomes and defect findings effectively.
- Contribute to team knowledge by documenting processes and best practices in Confluence.
Collaboration & Proactivity:
- Actively engage in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
- Work closely with developers and business analysts to clarify requirements and ensure they are testable.
- Identify opportunities for improving testing efficiency and propose actionable solutions.
- Stay adaptable and maintain a positive, team-oriented mindset in a fast-paced environment.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 3+ years of experience as a QA Engineer, with a strong focus on web application testing.
- Proficient in using Cypress for integration and end-to-end testing of web applications.
- Solid understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Hands-on experience with manual testing techniques such as black-box, regression, and exploratory testing.
- Skilled in developing and executing test cases derived from user stories and functional requirements.
- Familiarity with web application architecture and technologies including Angular, TypeScript, Java, Spring Boot, and PostgreSQL.
- Comfortable using browser developer tools (e.g., Chrome DevTools, Firefox Developer Tools) for inspection and debugging.
- Experience testing APIs with tools like Insomnia or Postman.
- Proficient in using JIRA for issue tracking and project coordination.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and analytical skills.
- Competent in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Working knowledge of SQL for data validation and database verification.
Preferred Technical Skills:
- Experience with AI-enhanced testing tools and strategies.
- Understanding of CI/CD workflows and integration of automated tests into pipelines.
- Familiarity with test management platforms such as Xray, TestRail, or TestLink.
- Knowledge of performance testing tools and techniques.
- Basic coding skills in JavaScript or TypeScript.
