Context:
We are looking for a senior, highly autonomous and experienced Financial & Business Controller to join our dynamic team. This is a mid-management position, combining strategic financial control with operational oversight. The role is vital in maintaining financial transparency, preparing reports for the Board, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting overall business planning.
Main responsibilities:
- Financial Control & Planning:
- Track and monitor all incoming and outgoing financial flows, including revenue, invoicing, payments, and receivables
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and dashboards
- Coordinate with the external accounting services provider to ensure proper recording and reconciliation of transactions
- Develop annual budgets and forecasts in collaboration with department heads and based on historical performance
- Monitor budget execution, analyze variances, and recommend corrective actions
- Prepare financial presentations and business reports for Board of Directors meetings
- Ensure compliance with local financial regulations, tax laws, and internal policies
- Support third-party financial audits and participate in audit-related discussions
- Implement and maintain strong internal controls, processes, and documentation standards
- Provide data-driven financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making
- Operational Control:
- Oversee and track logistics-related financial operations, including flows from collection and delivery partners
- Collaborate with the logistics coordinator to ensure timely and accurate reporting of operational data
- Review operational costs and assess efficiency across the nationwide logistics and collection network
What we are looking for :
- Mandatory:
- +5 years of experience in financial controlling, business controlling or similar roles
- Strong knowledge of financial flows, budgeting, and reporting
- Excellent command of Excel (financial modelling, dashboards, pivots, etc.)
- Proficiency in PowerPoint – ability to build clear, insightful presentations
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and drive processes proactively
- Fluency in English – essential for communication with the Board
- Nice to have:
- Prior experience in logistics-related or environmental services companies
- Understanding of waste management legislation, familiarity with AFM reporting procedures and SIATD platform
Profile:
- Comfortable working in a small team and reporting directly to top management
- Capable of handling both strategic financial planning and daily financial operations
- Analytical, precise, and detail-oriented, but able to synthesize complex data into actionable insights
